The Gregory Maddalena Foundation
The Gregory Maddalena Foundation was created to expand brain health education in schools and communities with one clear mission:
To prevent mental health crises by teaching people how their brains work under stress.
Mental health conversations are essential.
But education about how the brain functions under pressure is often missing.
The Foundation exists to close that gap.
By introducing brain literacy earlier, we help individuals recognize stress patterns, regulate emotional responses, and seek support before challenges escalate.
Because when people understand their brain, they gain the ability to protect it.

Why This Mission Matters
Stress, anxiety, impulsivity, and emotional overwhelm are not abstract experiences.
They are brain-based patterns.
When individuals understand:
- How stress affects decision-making
- How the nervous system responds under pressure
- How cognitive load narrows clarity
- how emotional overwhelm develops
They gain tools before patterns escalate.
Education changes trajectories.
Early awareness strengthens resilience.

Why This Work Is Personal
The Gregory Maddalena Foundation was created in honor of my father, Gregory Maddalena.
His story revealed something that is far too common: people struggle silently without fully understanding what is happening inside their brain under prolonged stress.
His life inspired a mission to ensure that future generations have access to the kind of knowledge that could help them understand their brain, recognize early warning signs, and seek support sooner.
This foundation exists so that more people have the awareness and tools needed to navigate pressure before it becomes overwhelming.
Our Vision
We believe brain literacy should be as foundational as physical health education.
When communities understand brain health:
• Stigma decreases
• Coping capacity increases
• Resilience strengthens
• Individuals feel empowered to seek help earlier
Stronger brains build stronger communities.
